| Sketches from Vermont |
[Apr. 21st, 2008|12:04 am] |
Hey,
Last weekend I went and visited the Center for Cartoon Studies and got to see Stan Sakai give a guest lecture along with seeing and meeting for the first time a bunch of friends. Some of whom I conned into drawing in my sketchbook.

I shared a hotel room with my good friend, Chris Wright ( cwright). We had a good time watching Turner Classic Movies on the hotel cable. |

1. Pick 15 of your favourite movies. 2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie. 3. Post them here for everyone to guess. 4. Fill in the film title once it's guessed. 5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDb search functions to answer!
good luck. |

[Jan. 28th, 2008|09:18 pm] |

Not to beat a dead horse, or elephant in this case, but I forgot to mention to send submissions (or even if you're thinking about doing a story) to my email denverjacob@yahoo.com ...
Hopefully it will make for a surprising birthday |

| Let me clear things up ... |
[Jan. 25th, 2008|11:58 am] |

Images in order: Lucy Knisley, Doug Frey, Linda Medley, JP Coovert.
OKAY, let me clear some things up. For Elephano the only guidelines are that it is an elephant magician, can be any time, place, setting ... I want to see YOUR take on the character and what you would do with him or her (maybe).
Deadline again: Thumbnails or at least story idea February 7th.
Finished Pages: July 31st ... just to set some kind of time period. |

[Jan. 22nd, 2008|08:49 pm] |
This is a reminder for those of you that got Elephano envelopes at SPX, and even if you didn't you're still welcome but...
DEADLINE FOR ELEPHANO THUMBNAILS OR STORY IDEAS IS FEBRUARY SEVENTH!
The plan is to have it as an anthology for SPX 2008.

[Jan. 7th, 2008|08:52 pm] |

For those at SPX that got an Elephano package (or those that didn't) deadline for story ideas or thumbnails is February 7th (one month from now and my birthday). Email them to me at denverjacob at yahoo dot com! Also here's a drawing by Kevin Burkhalter aka kar2nist to show you how different everyone's take on the character can be:
